Meet Our Dentists
Drs. Sean and Stephanie O’Rourke are true Georgia natives! Having met in dental school after attending GCSU and UGA respectively, they received their Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degrees from the Medical College in Augusta, GA in 1997 and 1996. They persistently continue to attend the most up-to-date, continuing education classes available. They take exceptional pride in maintaining their leading-edge practice in Cumming, using the latest in dental equipment and techniques. Both are members of the American Dental Association and the Georgia Dental Association. They opened their practice in 1999 in Brannon Office Park and have seen the tremendous growth in Forsyth County. They love seeing their patients grow up right before their eyes and bring the next generation of family to them for dental care.
Dr. Sean grew up in Madison, GA and has wanted to be a dentist since he was 13 years old. He is an Eagle Scout and got he idea to be a dentist from his mentor and Boy Scout leader, who is also a dentist. Dr. Sean was a theatre major in college and on tennis scholarship. He enjoys playing tennis and performing in community theatre in the local area. When he’s not performing himself, he helps assist the theatre program at Pinecrest Academy and coach the Paladain tennis teams. His most recent yearly theatrical production is as Ebenezer Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol” playing through Kudzu Theater Productions every Christmas.

Dr. Sean O'Rourke and
daughter, Kate O'Rourke
Dr. Stephanie grew up in Jonesboro, GA. She also decided to become a dentist at an early age. Her inspiration came from her childhood orthodontist and from experiences watching dentistry be performed on family at Emory Dental School when she was a young teen. She graduated from UGA with a biology degree before continuing her dental education in Augusta, where she met her future husband. When he wasn’t making her laugh, he was asking her to do his lab work in dental school. She declined, of course. They eventually ended up madly in love and married in 1998. She is dedicated to learning and growing in her profession and in her faith. When she is not with family or friends, she loves reading and being followed by Finnegan Murphy, the family dog.
Most of their time outside the office is spent with their adult children, Patrick and Kate, as well as being active participants in their local church. Of course, we can’t leave out their passionate cheering for their favorite national baseball and college football teams! Go Braves! Go Dawgs!
Dr. Sam Papadopoulos is the newest dentist to join O'Rourke Family & Cosmetic Dentistry. He works alongside Drs. Sean and Stephanie O'Rourke in caring for families with the same patient-centered, prevention-focused approach that guides the practice.
